David Zvi Kalman

Scholar in Residence & Director of New Media
David Zvi Kalman was born and raised in Toronto and is a Scholar in Residence and Director of New Media at Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, where he leads the Kogod Research Center’s Judaism and the Natural World research seminar. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the relationship between Jewish history and the history of technology. David Zvi's writing has appeared in many publications, including Haaretz, Religion Dispatches, Tablet, and the Forward. He is the owner of Print-O-Craft Press and founder of Jewish Public Media.
