Carol Rose, was born in New York City, spent most of her adult life in Winnipeg, Canada.She has enjoyed two sabbatical years & twenty five summers living in Jerusalem. Currently a dual citizen, with landed immigrant status in Israel, Carol now resides in St Louis, but looks forward to returning to Canada as soon as safe travel resumes. Her poems span those landscapes, as well as the inner landscapes of dream, memory, spirit, love & loss. Many of the poems attempt to reconcile the bonds between the ancient & modern Jerusalem, its peoples & beliefs. As a feminist/midrashic thinker, Carol conjures stories that highlight woman-centered interpretations of biblical women (including Lilith, Miryam & Bithia) Join her as she reads from two of her poetry collections -BEHIND THE BLUE GATE & FROM THE DREAM - where simple words take on an ancient role as incantations, prophesies, mystical memories, & sacred connections.
