Israel - Navigating Multiple Landscapes

The word "Israel" in the phrase "Israel Education" is a complicated term, and connotes multiple and, at times, disparate meanings which often add confusion rather than consistency to the field. This session explores five different conceptual landscapes which inform the historical evolution and perception of Israel in our collective narrative, and shows how all play a role in our contemporary, often complex, understanding of Israel: Israel imagined; covenantal Israel; Israel remembered; lived Israel; and Israel envisioned.
